"After" Pictures

Here are some more before and after pictures, now that our house is pretty much finished. I haven't included all of the rooms, because the bathrooms and the office/nursery still need a little work, but here are the rooms that are finished, except for maybe a few finishing touches here and there.

Schmidt's Sausage Haus

On Thursday, we enjoyed (thanks to some friends at RBC) a wonderful evening at Schmidt's Sausage Haus in German Village, which is just south of downtown Columbus. The setting was beautiful...quaint houses lined closely together on cobblestone streets, and the restaurant is lined with white lights. Greg got to try the famous Bahama Mama spicy sausage (which, he says, was the "wurst"...haha...hoping someone will get that bad joke), and Val savored Rouladen, Spaetzle and Kartoffelpuffer mit Apfelmus. We ended the evening with their famous creme puffs. The pictures below are of the outside, the "Autobahn Buffett" and the happy man serving sausage. Danke schoen!

First Hair Cut

Phoebe got her first hair cut Monday night! Our new friend Charissa cut it, and did a great job. Thanks to Stephanie for coming along to watch Phoebe and take pictures!

Thanks to the help of my Grandma and Mom, here are the pictures from our first function in Reynoldsburg: an open house for everyone who helped paint, baby-sit, haul our stuff, provide us with lodging, etc. during our move. I wish we could have everyone over at once, because our welcome to the area included even more than the work on our house, but it seems our house can accomodate about 30 people maximum. Some classic Weaver/Teuscher clan foods that made appearances: Scotcheroos, spinach squares and parmesan bites. Some new additions to the party menu: Tara's Chipolte Salsa, Mom's nacho dip, lemon fruit dip and (at Greg's request) mini pizzas. We are so grateful for all of the help we received from our parents, Uncle Darry, Aunt Dawn, Cousin Tara and Skeet, and our wonderful church family. Our house would not be our house without all of your hard work.

Our Little Lady Bug

In an effort to get to know our new neighborhood better, and for an opportunity for Phoebe to get dressed up, Phoebe went trick-or-treating tonight. We have a very friendly neighorhood! Candy for the kids and dog treats for the canines! We went with Phoebe's Ausin Tara and her dog Peanut and had a great time.
