Father's Day

Greg is definitely easy to please. For Father's Day, he wanted a nap, to watch golf, and have pizza. Here is Super Daddy Savage and his girls. We love you!! (As you can see, pictures after Sunday lunch can be a bit of a challenge.)

A Week at Mimi and Deeda's

As if a week with Nonnie and Papa wasn't enough, the girls also got a week with Mimi and Deeda in June. It was a fun-filled week of nightly "movies" before bedtime (30 minute Dr. Seuss videos), swimming in the pool, seeing lots of friends and family, and eating delicious food. Enjoy the pictures!

Sunday School Fellowships

Greg's Sunday school class has get-togethers almost monthly. So far this year we have had an Italian Mystery Dinner (the mystery was what you got for each course), a Luau (which we had to miss due to illness), a potluck with an East Asian theme, and a cook-out (which was moved indoors due to weather...but then it didn't rain). Next up is a Middle Eastern themed potluck. They are great times to be together, try new recipes, learn about the countries we focus on, and learn about what God is doing in those regions. Here are a few memories from the Italian Mystery Dinner and the cookout.

The Italian Mystery Dinner: We filled out a menu, not knowing what the items represented, and were served according to what we put. One example: for one course, I got a napkin, a salad, and a toothpick. The food and service were great!!

Phoebe's 3rd Birthday

I don't think I'm alone in feeling this way, but when it comes to our girls' birthdays, I feel like it can never be special enough. They are such precious gifts from God. We celebrated Phoebe's birthday four times: one time with Greg's parents, one time with my parents, just the four of us, and with Phoebe's friends.

At age three, Phoebe weighs 29 pounds and is just shy of three feet tall. She is very articulate, and can almost "read" some books from memory. Current favorites include: "Big Red Barn", Dr. Seuss' "Hop on Pop" and any Curious George story. Her other interests include singing (her current favorite is "God is so Good"), praying for friends or at the beginning of any pretend party she has organized, talking about her friends (who include most of the female Peanuts cartoon characters), swinging and sliding, helping me make dinner, making paper bag puppets, and the list could go on. She's graduated to a big girl bed, can dress herself, ride a tricycle, is learning to use the potty, to ask for things politely, to sit quietly in "big church" on Sunday nights, and wash her hands. The next day we spent some time at her favorite park...

And the following day, we met our friends at another local park for play time and a picnic lunch. We are blessed with great friends!
