The Gospel Coalition

Just before Easter, Greg and I joined five other members of our church in attending The Gospel Coalition conference in Chicago. It was a joy to create memories together as a group, hear great teaching from God's word and be introduced to countless resources. It was personally a joy for me to be able to be there with Greg, as he received encouragement as a pastor from the speakers, who are theologians, seminary professors and pastors themselves.

Thanks to the hospitality of my Mom and Grandma, we were able to stay the first night in Carmel before completing the trip. Thanks, Mom and Grandma! On our way up to the Windy City, we passed over 300 windmills, which dominated the landscape for miles...

Once in Chicago, we attended the main sessions and break-out sessions...

(My favorite speaker was D.A. Carson, who you see above)

worshiped with Keith and Kristyn Getty...

browsed the amazing bookstore...

sampled some Chicago style pizza....

and had a great time doing it!

Above is our group (from left to right: Justin, Sarah, Jonathan, Mark, Greg, Val, Ricky) infront of the conference poster, with the theme of the week: "They Testify About Me: Preaching Jesus and the Gospel from the Old Testament." Click here to listen to and/or watch any of the main sessions. I enjoyed D.A. Carson the most as a speaker, but enjoyed Tim Keller's message content the most.

The three break-out sessions I attended included one about the Literary Beauty of the Bible, Women Teaching Women the Bible, and One-on-One Discipleship. Click on the titles of the sessions to listen to the sessions.

So thankful for this opportunity!
